Senator Craig is “not in” right now…
December 12, 2008
I went to Senator Larry Craig’s website to contact him via email. I was greeted with this brief but formal “Going Out of Business” statement:
As my term serving as Idaho’s Senator comes to a close, my staff and I are focused on closing my offices and guaranteeing a smooth transition to my successor, Senator-elect Jim Risch. I am no longer accepting emailed messages and any letters received through U.S. Mail will be held and passed along to Mr. Risch once he takes office. [Emphasis his]
Aren’t our congress people in session now? Isn’t there “business” (loosely stated, I agree) going on? Is he not still on OUR salary? This, along with other actions of his, is ludicrous. Cheating. Too bad I cannot share this with him.

Perhaps because he felt he had nothing to lose, Senator Craig was the ONLY elected official to respond to The Boise Picayune’s Question:
“Currently before the 110th Congress of the United States is H. R. 5843 – Act to Remove Federal Penalties for the Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults.
Would you please share with the public whether you intend to support this legislation, and briefly express your views on deprioritizing or decriminalizing the personal use and possession of marijuana by adults.”
